Day 1 (October 10) Start from Kutaisi*
Former Soviet resort town Tskaltubo. Sanatoriums, bath houses, abandoned buildings.
Overnight in Kutaisi
Day 2 (October 11) Chiatura and Zestafoni
Postindustrial towns. Forgotten cable car stations, soviet memorials, and mosaics.
Overnight in Tbilisi
Day 3 (October 12) Tbilisi
Exploration of main modernist objects of the Georgian capital. You will see the Palace of Rituals, Ministry of Roads (Bank of Georgia), "Sky bridges" of Nutsubidze plateau, Archeology museum and other spectacular sites.

Day 4 (October 13) Kakheti
We will visit the Eastern region of Georgia.
Memorials, forgotten Soviet era sites, monumental art, idyllic landscapes.

Day 5 (October 14) Free morning in Tbilisi
Afternoon transfer to the Georgian/Armenian border. Road to Ijevan, Armenia.

Day 6 (October 15) Exploration of Ijevan, Dilijan and Vanadzor
Modernist architecture and Soviet memorials.

Day 7 (October 16) Mining town of Alaverdi
Spectacular canyon of Debed River. Stepanavan. Objects on the road.
Overnight in Vanadzor
Day 8 (October 17) Spitak, Gyumri, Yerevan
Abandoned Pioneers Camp, Iron fountain of Gyumri, Sardarapat memorial, and the epic landscape of Armenian highlands.
Overnight in Yerevan
Day 9 (October 18) Exploration of the suburbs of Yerevan
Soviet research institute, abandoned swimming pool, telescope of Orgov, and other sites. Overnight in Yerevan
Day 10 (October 19) Small towns between Yerevan and Sevan Lake
Writers Resort, Hrazdan bus station, and other spectacular soviet era modernist objects. Overnight in Yerevan

Since 2006 Stefano developed a strong interest in the architectural styles of the second half of the 20th century, focusing specially on soviet modernism, brutalism and postmodernism.
He documented a great number of buildings in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe, specially in the Caucasus, in Central Asia and in former Yugoslavia.
His work has been published on the most important architectural websites, like ArchDaily, Designboom, Domus, Architectural Digest and many others, as well as on printed magazines and books, like the Atlas of Brutalist Architecture published by Phaidon.
He is the co-author of the books Soviet Asia (Soviet Modernist Architecture in Central Asia) and Brutalist Italy (Concrete Architecture from the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea), published by FUEL, object of consistent interest of several media.
He documented a great number of buildings in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe, specially in the Caucasus, in Central Asia and in former Yugoslavia.
