Architecture photographer Stefano Perego and Gost Tours are leading a photography tour in Georgia focused on the local Soviet period architecture. It’s an adventure on the road, driving through large areas to observe and photograph a lot of interesting objects: Soviet modernist buildings, memorials, sculptures, mosaics and abandoned places of different kinds like sanatoriums, houses of culture, pioneer camps and more, looking for the traces of the Soviet past.
Stefano will share his experience as an architecture photographer, will give his support and advices to the group, while Gost Tours will provide information about the buildings and the historical context.

Stefano Perego
Architecture photographer (Milan, Italy)
Since 2006 Stefano developed a strong interest in the architectural styles of the second half of the 20th century, focusing specially on soviet modernism, brutalism and postmodernism.

He documented a great number of buildings in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe, specially in the Caucasus, in Central Asia and in former Yugoslavia.

His work has been published on the most important architectural websites, like ArchDaily, Designboom, Domus, Architectural Digest and many others, as well as on printed magazines and books, like the Atlas of Brutalist Architecture published by Phaidon.

He is the co-author of the books Soviet Asia (Soviet Modernist Architecture in Central Asia) and Brutalist Italy (Concrete Architecture from the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea), published by FUEL, object of consistent interest of several media.
